The material we endeavour to use at The Main
Furniture Company is sourced from building
reclamation sites, which would otherwise go to
landfill.

The significant rapid growth in the export industry of
Asian wooden products not only affect the atmosphere
with pollution from the factories, it also encourages
illegal logging. Consequently, the future of some of
Asia’s forests is cause for environmental concern.

By contrast, reclaimed wood, sourced from within the
UK and used in our own workshops creates furniture
from recycled materials with a totally original look,
which cannot be achieved using new wood. Furniture
manufacturers, whatever their expertise, using new
wood to construct furniture that is then aged or
distressed, can only finish up with a product which
looks contrived.

a genuinely aged product in our manufacturing, we
